These past few days, I’ve been gaining speed on Halo 2…playing Xbox Live, playing with my brother and his friends, and ultimately sucking at it. I guess I’ve been getting slightly better, but not anything spectacular.
Halo 3 is AMAZING. I love the new weapons and how you can customize your players. You can even choose to be a female now ! ’bout time, Bungie.
My brother wasn’t allowed to go to the midnight opening (he’s 15) so I went by myself. Got to the mall and went to Gamestop at around 9 pm-ish…I got off of school at 8:30 pm. There was this relatively big line gathering up…I was one of the last people to actually be in line yet still be INSIDE the mall, everyone else had to wait outside as not to block off the exit. Here’s a few pictures…sorry some are so blurry, it was dark so I had to lower the exposure and thus get shaky images.
I chatted with the two guys next to me for a while about miscellanious stuff. There was a Latino radio station van right outside of the mall by the outside line, giving out free sodas and having mini-competitions and whatnot. They even had a Master Chief prop:

The people who worked at Gamestop had employers go around and give out candy, ask triva questions for prizes, sign us up for Halo 2 tournaments inside the store, etc. They didn’t let anyone in until midnight; the line formed and around 11-ish we went in through groups to pay in full for our copy so when midnight struck, we could easily ‘get in, get out, and get on with our lives’.
Believe me when I say there were hardly ANY OTHER FEMALES THERE. I saw wives, mothers, girlfriends, and sisters hanging out with their brother or whomever, but hardly any of us were there for ourselves. :sigh: My brother managed to get me a spot with his friend, who had been waiting since 2 for the game…I ended up being the 9th person in line ! We watched YouTube videos on this one 28 year old guy’s Macbook Pro (there was an Apple Store near by), trading off stories, etc. These are some of the obnoxious (but funny) twits I was hanging out with:

(my brother’s friend Max is the one in blue.)
Once midnight came, everyone was yelling and trying to get into the store. I bought the standard edition Halo 3 ($59.99) but a few people bought the box set which came with a whole bunch of stuff. I dropped Max off at his house (it was the least I could do) while my brother was constantly calling me to make sure I was coming home eventually. Stopped by Blockbusters to pick up a second 360 controller ($60.00)…they only had this edition, but I was desperate:

It even came with a mini action figure !

My brother and I played for a while. Pretty soon I left, since I was tired and he wanted to play co-op with his friends. Here’s a random [baaad] picture of me, for your personal enjoyment:

Hehe.
